Making a 'Trusted site' in Internet Explorer 6.0
Click on the word Tools at the very top of your browser.
From the drop down menu click on the words 'Internet Options...'
In the window that pops up click on the tab at the top labelled 'Security'.
In the new window look for the icon that looks like a green checkmark and click on it once.
Now just below where you found the green checkmark will be a button labelled 'Sites...'.
Click once on this button.
In this new window look for the words near the bottom that say 'Require server verification...'.
If there is a check mark in the box to the left of this phrase click once on the box to remove the
THERE SHOULD NOT BE A CHECK MARK IN THIS BOX.
Now about 1/3 down the window is a long box labelled 'Add this Web site to the zone:'
Into this box type the internet address of the site you want to make a 'Trusted Site'.
The site will usually begin with http or https.
For any Faculty of Education on-line course there are two sites you must add. The first site will
begin with http and the second with https. BOTH sites must be added. The rest of the address
will be identical.
Click on the button labelled 'Add' beside this box.
The address you just typed in should now appear in the window labelled 'Web sites'.
Click on OK until the windows are gone and you are back at your browser screen.
Close the browser and re-open it
